KETTERING, Ohio (AP) — Police in suburban Dayton say they’ve found the body of a missing 87-year-old woman whose car was found submerged in a pond this past weekend.
Officers located the body of Margaret Spilker this morning.
The Dayton Daily News reports police in Kettering say the woman’s body went through a drainage pipe and was found about two miles from the retention pond.
Police do not suspect foul play in her death.
Spilker was last seen Saturday afternoon headed to the grocery store, and her vehicle was found later that night.
A dive team searched unsuccessfully for her on Sunday, and crews worked Monday to pump water out of the 8-foot-deep pond.
