The Youngstown State University Foundation has named seven new members to the board of trustees and bestowed emeritus trustee status on four members at its annual meeting.

“I congratulate the governance and board trustees committee for their tireless work in identifying and vetting this group of distinguished YSU alums,” said Jocelyne Kollay, chairwoman of the YSU Foundation Governance and Board Trustee Committee. “Each new trustee brings a depth of professional expertise and a long history of YSU engagement and philanthropy.”

The addition of the seven individuals brings to 41 the total on the trustees board.

“I would like to thank the departing trustees for their nearly a century of service to the University,” said Tom Fleming, chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees. “The lives of thousands of students and former students are better today because of their contributions to Youngstown State. I would also like to welcome our new trustees. Their experience and expertise will be a big benefit to foundation going forward.”

New members to the YSU Foundation Board:

• Raymond J. Briya, executive vice president, ms consultants, Canfield,

• Alfred J. Fleming, president, Alfred J. Fleming Company, Youngstown.

• Honorable Nathaniel R. Jones, of counsel, Blank Rome, Cincinnati.

• William (Tom) Poole, CPA, Hill, Barth & King, Liberty.

• Mary Pat Salomone, immediate past senior vice president and chief operations officer, Babcock & Wilcox, Waxhaw, N.C.,

• Theodore Schmidt, regional president, PNC, Canfield.

• Andrew “Jack” Weller, chief executive officer and co-owner, Liberty Steel Products, Liberty.

For the first time in the foundation’s history, four retiring trustees were granted emeritus status:

• Richard P. McLaughlin, served 10 years, of counsel, Roth Blair Roberts Strasfeld & Lodge.

• Joseph S. Nohra, served nine years, retired, Cafaro Company.

• William L. Spencer, served 45 years, retired, Equitable Life Assurance Company.

• G. Leo Winger, served 25 years, retired, Midland Ross Metal Products Group.
