Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries has recently partnered with Sunnking, Inc. in an effort to expand its recycling program. The partnership provides a free drop-off program for consumers and businesses desiring to responsibly recycle their electronics.
“Prior to our partnership with Sunnking, there were many electronics we had to refuse because we were unable to recycle those that didn’t sell in our stores, meet safety standards or simply didn’t work. This program allows us to expand our electronic recycling program beyond just computer recycling,” said Mike McBride, executive director of Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries.
“Officially partnering with Youngstown Area Goodwill adds yet another strong community partner to our growing network of drop-off points,” says Zacahry Hussion, marketing and programs manager for Sunnking. “Youngstown Area Goodwill is one of several Goodwill organizations in the northeast now working with Sunnking and we’re excited to continue to build our relationship.”
Residents and businesses have the ability to drop off their used electronics for responsible recycling at any one of Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries’ eight donation centers, including at the Austintown Plaza (6000 Mahoning Ave.) and the Boardman Plaza (285 Boardman-Canfield Road), where they can also request a donation receipt for tax purposes. Electronics are then sent to Goodwill’s main facility on Belmont Avenue in Liberty to be packed and sent to Sunnking for processing.
The goal of the program is to offer Goodwill and their donors a free, convenient and responsible way to recycle electronics. For a complete list of items that can be accepted and recycled with Sunnking visit www.sunnking.com/acceptable-materials/.
The program is also a great way for schools or businesses to recycle their computers and electronics.
