YOUNGSTOWN

Greenwood Chevrolet has donated a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze turbo diesel car as a joint incentive for the 2013 United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley and United Way of Trumbull County campaigns.

All donors of $156 ($3 a week) or more will qualify for one chance in the drawing to win the car. Donors of $200 ($4 a week) or more will receive two chances in the drawing.

“We are very appreciative of the generosity of Greg Greenwood and Greenwood Chevrolet,” said Bob Hannon, president of the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

Ten preliminary entries will be selected throughout the campaign—two in September, three in October, three in November, and two in December—from both Mahoning and Trumbull County United Ways. A raffle drawing for the finalists will take place in January 2014. Five finalists from each United Way will then attend an event in February/March 2014 at Greenwood Chevrolet where they will each have an opportunity to pull an envelope that contains a key. One key will start the Chevrolet Cruze. Finalists will be notified by certified letter, United Way officials said.

The goal for the Youngstown United Way’s 2013 Campaign is $2.5 million, said Becky Wall, vice president of Dearing Compressor & Pump Co. and 2013 campaign chairwoman.

In addition to the drawing for the Cruze, donors of $156 or more to the Youngstown United Way will qualify for a chance to win a $2,000 travel certificate from AAA, $1,000 Giant Eagle GetGo gas card or $500 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card. These three incentives are sponsored by Window World.

The Youngstown United Way’s 2013 campaign will officially kick off Sept. 6 in conjunction with the United Way Day of Caring.
