Local student to provide medical care in Kenya

Olivia Hartman, a 2008 Poland graduate, is a part of Asante, a group of students that wish to further Bonyo’s Kenya Mission through service at the Mama Pilista Memorial Clinic in the village of Masara, Kenya.

The team of six will be serving the villagers through medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and public health backgrounds. Asante will be traveling to Masara to serve for seven weeks and work to have the biggest impact that we can to improve the total welfare of the villagers. The team’s philosophy is that medical care is a human right, not a privilege. Many Kenyans will go their entire lives without ever seeing a physician and the team hopes to make sure all of those in Masara receive first-class medical care.

Donations are being accepted to help fund Asante’s trip. Any funds raised above the needed amount for the trip will go to purchasing pharmaceuticals and medical supplies for the clinic. To donate, visit http://asantebkm.tumblr.com/ or send a check to 1837 Ashton Lane A164, Kent, OH 44240.
