Agland Country Store, 364 Lisbon St., will host members of the Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown on Saturday to answer questions from both seasoned and budding gardeners.

Garden club scholarships will be the topic from 8 to 10 a.m., when Dan Burns, past president, will issue applications and answer questions.

Every year the club sponsors a youth gardening program at Akron Children’s Hospital, Market Street in Boardman.

From 9 to 10 a.m., parents can ask David Causer about enrolling youngsters, who will learn to plant flowers and vegetables.

Several youths from the program recently won national honors.

Donald S. Brown, an award-winning tomato grower, will answer queries from the public from 10 a.m. to noon about how to grow tasty tomatoes.

From noon to 2 p.m., John P. Fox, known for his hostas, will explain how to grow and divide the No. 1 shade plant and other perennials.

Several other MCGY members, Bruce Brungard, Dr. George Guju, Joe S. Alessi, Bob Fink and Bob McGowan, will be available to answer questions.
