Sen. Schiavoni will sleep out at board of elections

YOUNGSTOWN — State Sen. Joe Schiavoni of Boardman, D-33rd, and fellow Democrats will spend the night outside the Mahoning County Board of Elections, starting at 7 p.m. Monday, in an effort to draw attention to Tuesday’s being the first day for early voting in Ohio.

Early voting starts at 8 a.m. Tuesday. The elections board is located in Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave. in Youngstown.

Mahoning is one of five counties — along with Lucas, Hamilton, Cuyahoga and Franklin — that is having a “Sleep Out the Vote” event organized by the Ohio Senate Democratic Caucus.
