Poland seventh-graders fall to Canfield

The Poland seventh-grade football team lost to rival Canfield 20-14 last week.

Dante Romano scored both touchdown for the Bulldogs and Jonah Spencer converted a two-point conversion run.

Spencer led the Poland defense with a fumble recovery.

PMS eighth-graders beat rival

The PMS eighth-grade football squad earned a narrow 7-6 victory over Canfield.

Reid Gould scored a rushing TD for Poland and Marcus Trevis converted what to proved to be the game-winning point with a point-after kick.

Coaches noted that Kyle McCree was key on the offensive line from his center position. Connor Morse and Joe Lawman both had interceptions to pace the Bulldogs’ defense.

The Poland defense was credited for stopping Canfield’s two-point conversion that would have won the game.

Poland freshman lose 24-14

The Poland freshman team lost 24-14 to Canfield.

Poland scored on a trick play when quarterback Nick Buccheri handed off to running back Dylan Garver, who then threw a pass back to Buccheri for a 40-yard TD. Poland’s other score came from a 20-yard pass from Buccheri to Garver.

Linebackers Matt Duran, Austin Connley and Anthony Audi, along with lineman Joe Bonarigo, led the Bulldogs’ defense.
