STRUTHERS

The Mahoning County District Board of Health is sponsoring a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats, and ferrets from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Struthers Police Department, 6 Elm St.

The county requires rabies vaccination for all dogs, cats, and ferrets older than 3 months. No appointment is needed. The cost is $6 per shot. Pet owners must have their pets on a leash, in a cage, or inside a pillowcase.

Bites and scratches from unvaccinated pets and stray animals could cause human exposure to rabies.

The clinic is sponsored by the county health department; Dr. John Daugherty, veterinarian; and the Poland Veterinary Centre.
