Fed grand jury indicts former owner, GM of Timberlanes in Salem

CLEVELAND — A federal grand jury has indicted the former owner and general manager of the Timberlanes Motor Lodge and Restaurant in Salem on seven counts of failing to report and pay employment taxes to the IRS, the U.S. Attorney said.

The seven-count indictment, filed Wednesday against Melissa Snively-Pallard, 33, of New Springfield, alleges that, for seven quarters in 2006 and 2007, she failed to report and pay $93,927 in federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes Timberlanes withheld from its employees’ wages.

Timberlanes, 544 E. Pershing St., closed in January 2009 and was sold to Unique Ventures Group of Meadville, Pa., for $1 million in a March 2011 sheriff’s sale.
