Youngstown police probe 2 armed robberies

YOUNGSTOWN
City police are investigating two separate armed robberies that took place Monday evening and early Tuesday.
A South Schenley Avenue man flagged down police on Market Street shortly after midnight Monday and said he was robbed of his car and cellphone.
The man told police he was driving in the area of Oakhill Avenue and Breaden Street on the South Side when two men approached his car and held him at gunpoint.
The victim said the two armed men went through his pockets, then made him drive through the South Side.
The victim told police one of the men eventually made him move over and began driving the car.
The men ultimately made the man get out of his car and hide in some bushes.
He flagged down police shortly after being made to get out of the car.
Police are also looking into the robbery of a 50-year-old woman walking home with her paycheck shortly after 8 p.m. Monday.
The woman said she picked up $200 in pay from the small store where she is employed, and was walking through rear yards near High Street on the South Side, heading home.
A man wearing a ski mask emerged from a group of bushes holding a handgun and demanded her money.
The woman said she gave the armed man the $200 then ran away from the area and later called police.
