Sister of slain Libya ambassador wants to understand his death

SEATTLE (AP) — The sister of slain Ambassador Chris Stevens says “it helps to have the world mourning with you” and know that he was appreciated.

Seattle pediatrician Dr. Anne Stevens told The Seattle Times she reads everything she can about the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya, that killed her brother and three other Americans. She wants to understand how it happened.

Anne Stevens says her brother’s safety was always a worry, but no on tried to talk him out of being where he wanted to work.

The family has created an online memorial to promote understanding between the Western and Arab worlds at rememberingchrisstevens.com.
