OSHP seizes $5,000 worth of liquid codeine in Hancock County
FINDLAY — An Ohio man and woman face felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized seven bottles of liquid codeine, worth an estimated $5,000, after a traffic stop in Hancock County.
Troopers stopped a 2012 Mitsubishi Galant, with Ohio registration, for following too close and marked lanes violations on Interstate 75 in Hancock County, at 12:34 a.m. Saturday. Upon speaking with the driver, the odor of raw marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle. A probable-cause search revealed about 2,330 milliliters of liquid codeine and a small amount of marijuana located in the passenger compartment.
The driver, Kenisha L. Williams, 20, and passenger, Je’Ronn Hill, 21, both of Columbus, were charged with aggravated possession of a Schedule III substance, a fourth-degree felony.
Both suspects were incarcerated in the Hancock County Justice Center.
