Case Western med school pledged $20M toward construction


CLEVELAND (AP) — Case Western Reserve University has landed two $10 million pledges toward the cost of a $50 million medical education and research building on the Cleveland campus.

The pledges from the Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation and the Cleveland Foundation were announced today.

Cleveland Foundation president Ronn Richard says the futures of Case and the city are linked and says Cleveland needs a first-class national research university to be great.

The Case medical school attracts $300 million a year in federally sponsored research funding.
