Youngstown’s Ed O’Neill denied Emmy Award for second straight year

LOS ANGELES

For the second consecutive year, Youngstown actor Ed O’Neill was denied an Emmy Award for his role of Jay Pritchett in the hit ABC-TV Comedy “Modern Family.”

Winning the award tonight was Eric Stonestreet, a fellow “Modern Family” actor.

Stonestreet also beat Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ty Burrell, also from “Modern Family” as well as Max Greenfield of Fox’s “New Girl” and Bill Hader of “Saturday Night Live.”

The award for best supporting actor in a comedy was the first major award of the night.
