Salem hospital entrance to change during construction

To help people safely access its facilities during construction of a new patient tower, Salem Community Hospital is asking patients and visitors to enter the hospital through the ground floor lobby entrance at the Salem Medical Center across the street from the main hospital, next to the north parking lot on East State Street.

Beginning Monday, receptionists will provide wheelchair assistance at the center’s lobby entrance from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Staff members will be available to transport those needing assistance to and from the main hospital. After 9 p.m. each day, visitors and patients must enter the hospital through the Emergency Department.

Bus and golf cart shuttle service will be available to transport patients and visitors from the parking lot to the main entrance, and limited parking will be available in front of the hospital’s main and business office entrances.
