Instruments: Sousaphone and Baritone Saxophone

Q. When did you start playing your instrument?

A. I started playing the saxophone in fifth grade and sousaphone this past summer.

Q. If you could play any other instrument, what would it be and why?

A. I probably would have liked to play the trombone because it just looks cool.

Q. Best memory of being in band/marching band?

A. Best memory was probably the New Orleans trip to the BCS national championship game. The atmosphere in New Orleans was unbelievable and just being able to be in the Superdome was just a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Q. What band trips did you attend, and which trip was your most memorable?

A. I attended the Disney trip as a freshmen and the NOLA trip as a junior and NOLA was my favorite by far.

Q. What competitions did you participate in and awards you won?

A. I have competed in Solo and Ensemble and have received a ā€˜2ā€™ on a solo and have received two ā€˜1sā€™ in saxophone ensembles.

Q. Why is music important to you?

A. Music is important to me because the analyzing techniques that I have used to analyze notes and rhythms have translated to my school work and have helped make me a better student.

Q. What college do you hope to attend/intended major?

A. I am planning to attend either YSU, Wright State or Toledo, majoring in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
