Girls golf team wins match

The Canfield girls golf team won a four-team match Sept. 13 at Tamer Win with a score of 159. Leading the team were Christina Cooper (37), Olivia DeMartino (39), Kerra Loomis (41) and Michele Whiteleather (42).

Other teams at the match were Kent Roosevelt (168), Geneva (170) and Warren JFK (216).

Girls golf defeats Poland

The Canfield girls golf team defeated Poland 175-194 on Sept. 12 at the Diamond Back golf course. Top players for Canfield were Kerra Loomis (39), Michele Whiteleather (43), Lianna Tucci (46) and Olivia DeMartino (47).

Boys soccer victorious

Canfield boys varsity soccer team added a third victory to its win streak with a 5-4 win over Beaver Local. Dylan Seybert had two goals, Brady Clark two goals and Michael Piersante scored one goal. Assists were credited to Jona Ghossain, Maleck Saleh, and Dylan Seybert. Canfield goalkeeper Andrik Massaro had four saves with the Cardinals taking nine shots on goal.

Children’s golf clinic

Diamondback Golf Course is offering golf clinics and an afterschool league for kids in grades first through eighth. Clinic dates and times are Sunday at 1 p.m., and Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. On Sept. 30, there will be a parent/child nine-hole golf scramble at 3 p.m. Boys and girls of all skill levels are welcome.

Softball Fall Classic to be held in September

Youngstown Orthopaedic Saturday sports clinic

Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates’ Saturday sports clinics, geared specifically to fall sports student-athletes in need of immediate attention to sports injuries, has started. The clinics run from 9-11 a.m. every Saturday throughout the high school sports season.

These clinics are open to players involved in football, volleyball, soccer, golf and other high school and college sports. They are held at the practice’s Building A at the northwest corner of Tippecanoe Road and Boardman-Canfield Road in Canfield. More information is available at www.youngstownortho.com.
