A Liberty Township man accused of shooting a pregnant woman has been indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury on charges of attempted murder, felonious assault and assault on a peace officer.

Tadarrell D. Mason, 19, of 1465 Townsend Ave., could be sentenced to more than 20 years in prison on the attempted murder and felonious assault, both with a specification that he used a gun.

Liberty police said Mason shot a pregnant 21-year-old woman twice in the leg and once in the abdomen July 23.

While Mason was being questioned about the shooting, he reportedly struck a Liberty police officer in the head with a telephone, resulting in a charge that could produce a jail sentence of an additional 18 months.

Also indicted Tuesday was Shauntare R. Davis, 25, of East Avondale Avenue, Youngstown, and Christopher L. Foster, 19, of Transylvania Avenue, Warren, accused in an armed carjacking Aug. 5.

Both men were indicted on charges of aggravated robbery and felonious assault and face possible prison terms of 20 years.

Police said a Niles man reported being in Trumbull Homes apartments at 1:36 a.m. looking for a car he owned when he was attacked by three black males and a white male who pulled him out of the car and assaulted him.

The men also took his car, police said.

Police were called to the same area at 3:49 a.m. for a disturbance and found Davis and Foster and realized they matched the description of the suspects in the carjacking.

Patrick L. Weaver, 24, of Campbell, meanwhile, was indicted on charges of robbery with a specification of being a repeat violent offender, theft of a motor vehicle, failure to comply with the order of a police officer and assault on a police officer.

Weathersfield Township police said Weaver assaulted a 55-year-old man in a coin-operated laundry on state Route 46 and took his keys and pickup truck at 1 a.m. Aug. 4, then led Weathersfield and Warren police on a chase on Niles Road and South Street.

He is accused of biting Warren police Sgt. Sherrey McMahon in the calf area during his arrest.

Weaver was sentenced to six years in prison in early 2007 in Mahoning County after pleading guilty to two burglaries.

If convicted on the latest charges, Weaver could get about 20 years in prison.

Russell A. Beatty, 41, of Hobart Road, Leavittsburg, was indicted on two counts of robbery, which carry a possible prison sentence of 16 years, for reportedly robbing the Circle K store on South Main Street in Niles on Aug. 7 and committing a carjacking at the McDonald’s restaurant in Niles on Aug. 6.
