Troopers identify man killed in Weathersfield Township crash

WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP

The Southington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a two-vehicle crash on West Liberty Street Wednesday afternoon as Troy Jones, 28, of Mineral Ridge.

Jones was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu east on East Liberty when he drove off of the right side of the road and struck an unoccupied, parked pickup truck.

Jones was the only occupant of his vehicle and was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital, said the highway patrol, which continues to investigate the accident.

The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. west of Salt Springs Road.
