Linda S. Crish, a member of GFWC Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s Club since 2002, was installed as Ohio director of junior clubs for the General Federation of Women’s Clubs during the 102nd international GFWC convention in Charlotte, N.C.

She will serve in the elected position for the 2012-14 administration under Mary Ellen Laister, GFWC international president.

Crish also will serve on the GFWC board of directors with 17 other members. The GFWC, founded in 1890, is one of the largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational women’s volunteer service organizations. It was chartered by the 56th U.S. Congress in 1901.

Crish has assumed her state duties on the executive board and appointed 21 members to the junior board. The junior clubs will follow the GFWC junior special project of “Advocates for Children.” The theme, “The Symphony of One Voice,” reflects the adminstration’s focus on music and the arts.

As a member of Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s Club, Crish served two terms as president and two terms as corresponding secretary in addition to being editor of the club’s monthly newsletter.

She is in her second term as recording secretary and has served as co-chairwoman of the club’s reverse raffle and golf outing. She also is chairwoman of St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser.

Crish is a member of Youngstown Area Federation of Women’s Clubs, and was named “Club Woman of the Year for 2011.”

She also has represented Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs as the 2010 Leads Candidate at the GFWC convention in Omaha, Neb. She has held the positions of Northeast District president 2008-10, NED junior director 2006-08, fundraising chairwoman on the OFWC Junior Board and served on the standing rules review committee.

In the community, Crish has served as president and secretary of Poland Little Bulldogs and was a trustee. She is a member of Poland Seminary High School Band Parents and Holy Family Church. She has been an organist at area churches for 32 years.

Crish and her husband, David, have two children. She is a client services manager with Raymond James Financial Services.
