Casino winners targets in robberies

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police are investigating a series of robberies that appear to have targeted big winners who cashed out at Philadelphia’s Sugarhouse Casino.

The latest attack happened on Sunday. One victim in that robbery tells WCAU-TV two men armed with stun guns ambushed her and her husband and made off with $8,000 and a diamond ring.

Investigators say the robbers may specifically be targeting Asian casino patrons. The woman in Sunday’s attack is 8 months pregnant.

Sugarhouse says its cooperating with the investigation, including supplying police with surveillance images.
