A summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield city and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Sept. 7

Animal complaint: Melanie Johnson, 43, of 151 Woodlawn Run, was charged with dogs running loose.

Sept. 14

Drug abuse: Andrew Kapel, 27, of 10449 Abbot Ave., Bloomington, Minn., was arrested on a charge of drug abuse, for purported possession of 3 grams of marijuana and 1.5 grams of hashish.

Sept. 15

Drug paraphernalia: Matthew Stokes, 33, of 6065 Saltills Road, Roseville, Ohio, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, a tire cap with marijuana residue.

Drug abuse: Ashley Van Russell, 23, of 4840 State Route 14, New Waterford, was arrested on charges of drug abuse of heroin and drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments, syringes and burnt spoons with heroin residue.

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 10

Burglary: Forced entry through a rear door took place in a burglary at a home in the 100 block of S. Roanoke Avenue.

Unauthorized use: A woman reported her boyfriend took her car in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Criminal damaging: A hole in a fence, possibly made by a bullet, was reported at a home in the 5000 block of North Beacon Drive.

Recovered property: 38 boxes of Winchester .32 blank ammunition was recovered at a home in the 100 block of North Main Street.

Domestic violence: William Matsouris, 19, of 3473 Meanderwood Drive was arrested on a charge of domestic violence.

Sept. 11

Aggravated robbery: An unknown amount of cigarettes was taken at Certified Oil, 825 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal trespassing: Matthew Downie, 27, of 6455 Diana Drive, Poland, was arrested on a charge of criminal trespassing at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A prescription was stolen from an auto at a home in the 100 block of Fitch Boulevard.

Theft: A bottle of Tussin DM was stolen at Rite Aid, 5498 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: An unoccupied house was entered and items stolen in the 100 block of Ohltown Road.

Theft: Candace Lightner, 25, of 80 Barcelona Drive, Niles, and Rachel Peterson, 27, of 82 Barcelona Drive, Niles, were arrested on a charge of theft of children’s clothing at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Sept. 12

Criminal damaging: A mailbox was damaged at a home in the 100 block of Ohltown Road.

Breaking and entering: The door to a building was damaged but nothing else as disturbed at a Dominion tower site on Dunlap Road.

Theft: Michelle Pack, 40, of 17670 Denver Drive, Lake Milton, was arrested and charged with theft of $63.61 in merchandise at Walmart.

Assault: Jessi Hudson, 40, of 135 S. Dunlap Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of assault in the 3000 block of Oakwood Avenue.

Sept. 13

Aggravated menacing: A male was threatened by another male at home in the 100 block of Benton Street.

Theft: Electronic monitoring equipment was stolen at Scotchie and Associates, 25 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Fraud: Unauthorized transactions were reported at home in the 4000 block of Lake Road.

Burglary: Forced entry was reported at a home in the 5000 block of Red Apple, and a gun and cash were stolen.

Burglary: Entry was gained through a garage door and jewelry was stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Chaucer Lane.

Warrant: Amber Marshall, 19, of 172 Miller Ave, Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Sept. 14

Drug offense: Philip Alisau, 59, of 3592 S. Raccoon Road, Canfield, was issued summonses charging him with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Criminal damaging: A lamppost was damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Monaca Avenue.

Counterfeit currency: A counterfeit $10 bill was passed at Smoker Friendly, 1643 S. Raccoon Road.

Domestic violence: Stanley Sedmack, 49, of 119 Marcia Drive was arrested on a domestic-violence charge.

Warrant: Howard Catheline, 59, of 3192 Roselawn Drive, Niles, was arrested on a warrant charging him with theft.

Aggravated menacing: Threats from a girlfriend’s father were reported at a home in the 300 block of DeHoff Drive.

Burglary: Credit cards and jewelry were taken at a home in the 50 block of North Four Mile Run Road.

Theft: Patrick Luther, 54, of 35 S. Brockway Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of theft of $30.78 in merchandise at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Chad Kimble, 30, of 4493 Mahoning Ave., was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of misuse of 911.

Sept. 15

Weapons offense: Robert Clay, 44, of 886 N. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg, was arrested on charge of possession of concealed weapons, including a .25 caliber handgun and two knives.

Assault: A female was punched by her boyfriend, and a DVD player was stolen at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Attempted burglary: A window was broken out with a rock at a home in the 400 block of Westgate Blvd.

Theft: Numerous items were recovered in yards after being stolen from an auto at a home in the 400 block of S. Edgehill Avenue.

Fraud: A purse was sold on Craig’s List and $2,100 was taken at a home in the 3000 block of Monaca Avenue.

Warrant: Mark Digiacomo, 49, of 1701 SW 30th St., Cape Coral, Fla., was arrested on a warrant for theft.

Theft: A car window was broken out and change and CDs were stolen from an auto at a home in the 400 block of Westgate Boulevard.

Criminal damaging: A car window was broken out but nothing was missing at a home in the 400 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A car window was broken out at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Drug offense: Antwain Mayes, 22, of 111 N. Navarre Ave., Youngstown, was issued summonses for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Theft: A wife stole military-issue property from a husband at a home in the 100 block of Maple Leaf Drive.

Assault: A female was assaulted by her boyfriend at a home in the 100 block of S. Edgehill Ave.

Sept. 16

Disorderly conduct: Lawrence LaCivita, 23, 43 Carter Circle, Youngstown was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at the Country Inn and Suites, 5570 Interstate Blvd.

Criminal damaging: Damage to a wall was reported at the Country Inn and Suites.

Criminal damaging: A semi’s windows were broken out at a home in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Warrant: Josh Dailey, 20, of 3230 Main St., Mineral Ridge, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a criminal trespass charge.

Theft: A wallet was left in a buggy and later stolen at Walmart.

Theft: Wooden pallets were stolen from outside Handyman Hardware, 4351 Kirk Road.

Theft: A propane tank was taken from a back porch at a home in the 50 block of Parkgate Avenue.
