Steel workers and public officials who lived through Black Monday, the day the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. closed its mills, will commemorate the event on its 35th anniversary Wednesday.

William Sferra, who was president of the 5,000-member union local in 1977, will moderate a discussion.

The event, at 10 a.m. at the city building at 351 Tenney Ave., is open to the public and to officials from surrounding communities.

Anyone who would like to show labor or steel-mill memorabilia should call Sferra at 330-770-3966 or 330-792-6787.
