McBride-Jakubek rite is planned for Sept. 22

Marie (Marci) Allison McBride of Poland and Scott Matthew Jakubek of Berlin Center are engaged, their parents are announcing.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Barbara McBride of Poland and the late Robert McBride. The prospective groom is the son of John Jakubek of Canfield and Vickie Jakubek of Berlin Center.

St. Columba Cathedral will be the setting of the 1:30 p.m. Sept. 22 ceremony. Invitations will be extended for an evening reception at The Georgetown in Boardman.

The bride-to-be earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in communications and leadership from Gonzaga University. She works as a report coordinator for First National Bank in Hermitage.

The future groom is employed as a heavy-equipment operator for The Acme Company in Boardman. He has been in the Army National Guard for 10 years and has served in Iraq.
