Police probe crash

New wilmington, Pa.

Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that has one person in intensive care. Road rage and alcohol may have been a factor, the police report states.

New Wilmington police said a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Megan E. Roddy, 19, of Mercer, Pa., was traveling west along state Route 208 at 1:30 a.m. Saturday when it was struck by a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the driver’s side while making a left turn into a private driveway.

Police said the Jeep’s driver, Sean Catterson, 21, of Frederick, Md., was traveling directly behind the car before the crash.

Police said a helicopter was used to take Roddy to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown for treatment of head injuries. Catterson was field-tested for sobriety. He and a passenger, Brandon Ferrari, 20, of New Wilmington, were not injured.
