Wednesday, November 28, 2012

NORTH BLOOMFIELD — A deputy with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s office will be cited for a traffic violation in an accident on state Route 45 just south of East Nurse Road Tuesday night.

Trooper Jason Fantone of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Southington Post said the deputy hit the back of a car stopped on Route 45 southbound at 6:01 p.m. The car was preparing to make a turn into a driveway when the sheriff’s cruiser struck the back of the vehicle.

The location is about half way between state routes 88 and 87 and just north of the Bristolwood Golf Club.

The female driver of the car had minor injuries and was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

The child in the car seat of her car was not injured, nor was the deputy, but they went to the hospital to be checked as a precaution.

The state patrol did not release the names of those involved in the accident.
