The 12th annual Special Needs Winterfest Dance is set for 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Mahoning Country Club.

The dance is open to all high-school-age students with special needs in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Drop-off time is from 4:30 to 5 p.m. with dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. and dancing from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Snow prince and Snow Princess will be crowned toward the end of the dance.

There is no cost for the dance, but RSVP’s are required to let the country club know how much food to prepare.

Call Jeanne Constantino at East High School in Youngstown at 330-740-4005, ext. 4146, fax at 330-742-6464, or email her at jeanne.constantino@youngstown.k12.oh.us to RSVP.

A photographer will be at the dance to take pictures, and Santa and his elves and Mrs. Claus also will make an appearance. All students attending the dance this year will receive a DVD of the event through the generosity of Videos By Barry.

Parents will be welcome only between 4:30 and 5 p.m. and between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m. to allow students the opportunity to interact with students from other districts.

Dress is semiformal for the students, so they are asked not to wear sweatpants, sweatshirts, jeans, shorts, school uniforms or tennis shoes (unless medically necessary). Boys can wear suits, shirts and ties, dress shirts, jersey or sweaters and dress pants.

Girls can wear any type of dress, dress pants or skirts and blouses or sweaters.
