Phantoms snap 4-game skid

MUSKEGON, MICH.

Six Phantoms registered goals as Youngstown snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory over the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday in USHL action at L.C. Walker Arena.

Sam Anas, Austin Cangelosi, Luke Stork, Marcus McCrea, Kyle Connor and John Padulo scored as the Phantoms (6-11-0, 12 points) won for the first time in November.

Goaltender Sean Romeo stopped 39 shots to earn the victory.

Goaltender Kevin Lindskoug made 35 stops for the Lumberjacks (11-5-1, 23 points). Muskegon is in second place in the Eastern Conference while the Phantoms are seventh.

Penalty killers excelled during the game. The Phantoms’ power play failed on six attempts while the Lumberjacks were 0-for-4 with the extra skater.

After Joseph Cox gave Muskegon a 1-0 lead, Anas tied the game with an assist from Zach Evancho.

Cangelosi, Stork and McCrea scored the first three goals of the second period.
