Program includes opera favorites

The Dana School of Music and Youngstown Opera Guild will present Opera Gala II at 8 p.m. Saturday in Bliss Recital Hall, which is in Bliss Hall, on Wick Avenue. The program is free and open to the public and features students and alumni of the Dana School of Music vocal program. The program will include selections from several operas sung by Alyssa Leith, Lauren Corcoran, Emily Alcorn, Diana Farrell, Victor Cardamone, Molly Sherer and Max Pivik.

Holiday open house and arts, crafts sale

YOUNGSTOWN

The Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., will have its annual holiday open house and art sale from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The event will feature the work of artists who work out of the Calvin Center building, as well as other local artisans and crafters. Jewelry, accessories, paintings, knitted goods, sculpture, canned goods, Christmas ornaments and more will be available. Performers from the Rust Belt Theater Company will provide holiday entertainment.
