YNGAir meeting
VIENNA
YNGAir Partners, a support group for the Youngstown- Warren Regional Airport, will meet at 7 p.m. today in the airport’s terminal conference room. The airport has received a $780,000 Small Community Air Service Development Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to offer airlines as a revenue guarantee to provide daily airline service at the airport. YNGAir Partners will assist with raising the $420,000 local share for a total of $1.2 million to sustain start-up airline service.

January sentencing
YOUNGSTOWN
A 22-year-old Boardman woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to attempted aggravated vehicular homicide and will be sentenced Jan. 9. Michele Green of Mathews Road was indicted in August after police said she was driving on Middletown Road in Springfield on July 2 when she ran a stop sign and crashed into a car driven by 31-year-old Theresa Clinkscale.
Matthew Clinkscale, 32, was Clinkscale’s front passenger and was ejected from the car during the accident. He later died from his injuries, according to reports.
Recycles Day today
WARREN
To celebrate America Recycles Day today, the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will have its annual “Let Us Catch You Recycling Campaign.” If a resident is caught by district staff recycling at any of the 46 drop-off sites, they could win a tote bag full of recycled products and be entered to win stainless-steel kitchen recycling bins. “This is one way we are thanking our residents who are doing their part,” said Holly Carine, district educator. “So far this year, our recycling drop-off program has diverted over 3,000 tons of materials from landfills.”
All recycling sites are open seven days a week and take plastic bottles, bags and containers, glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans and newspapers, magazines and office papers. Most sites now have separate cardboard recycling bins.
Salem signal work
SALEM
Work will begin Monday on the traffic signals at two state Route 62 intersections in Salem. The traffic signals at state Routes 45 and 14 will be upgraded, including replacement of the signal, sign and lighting hardware. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Ohio Department of Transportation’s contractor for this $332,682 project is Cornerstone Electric Inc. Projected completion is set for May.
Power outage Friday

Weathersfield Township officials announced there will be a scheduled power outage at the administration office, 1451 Prospect St., on Friday. The office will be closed Friday and open Monday as usual. For information, contact the township office at 330-652-6326.
Help needy families
BAZETTA
Members of the Bazetta Township Police Department and Cortland Walmart will collect nonperishable food items, personal-care products and cash for needy Bazetta-Cortland families from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Walmart’s at 2016 Millennium Blvd.
Proceeds will be distributed by the Cortland Area Cares Food Pantry. Donations also will be accepted at the police department, 2671 McCleary-Jacoby Road.
Lori Lamb pleads
BOARDMAN
A township woman who pleaded guilty to stealing more than $170,000 from her former employer will be sentenced Jan. 4. Lori Lamb, 51, was an office manager for Morris Drain Service on Simon Road and was indicted on a felony theft charge in July 2011. She pleaded guilty to the charge Thursday in front of Judge Lou D’Apolito in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Lamb had quit her job with Morris Drain in February 2011, according to records. In police reports, one of the business’ owners said the theft occurred over a period of 10 years.
Prayer, praise service

The Mahoning Valley Hope Center will have a candlelight prayer, praise and worship service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at 3217 Surrey Road — one block south of St. Joseph Health Center. The service is for those who are lost to alcohol, drugs, violence, abuse, murder or thoughts of suicide, as well as the family and friends of anyone affected by these problems.
New Castle fire
NEW castle, pa.
A fire at a rental house on Arlington Avenue is definitely suspicious, the New Castle Fire Department said. The department was called at 7:30 p.m., and the house was fully engulfed in flames. There were no injuries. The department said the house has been vacant since last week, and there were multiple points of ignition.
