The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle crash that closed lanes on Interstate 80 through Wednesday morning.

The eastbound lanes were closed for three hours after the driver, Piotr J. Burek, 28, of Elmwood Park, Ill., traveled to the south side of the road and overturned down an embankment. The accident occurred just after 11 p.m. Tuesday near Hubbard Township.

Two aluminum coils, along with other miscellaneous freight, came off of Burek’s tractor-trailer. The coils and other items fell onto the roadway and down the embankment, according to a news release.

Burek wasn’t injured but was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.
