Friday, May 25, 2012

After battling during the regular season, the 55 teams in the Youngstown Youth Flag Football Association will begin the spring playoff season tomorrow.

Week 6 of the regular season included a handful of match-ups that shook up the standings and set up some interesting first round postseason match-ups.

On the 5-6 division, the Miami Dolphins (5-1) knocked off the undefeated New Orleans Saints on an interception returned for at touchdown with 45 seconds remaining in the game.

That win created a four-team cluster at the top of the division.

In the 7-8 division, it came down to the two top teams for the chance to claim the No. 1 playoff seed.

The Washington Redskins jumped out to a early lead with a safety on the third play of the game and didn’t look back en route to a 29-12 victory.

The playoffs begin tomorrow and conclude June 2. For the complete playoff schedule, visit www.yffayouth.net.
