A 10-year-old girl is accused of sex crimes against three female friends.
The alleged incidents came to light in April after the father of one victim told Canfield police that he was concerned that his daughter had been sexually assaulted by the girl, according to a police report.
Detectives began investigating the claim, and on April 20 the 10-year-old girl was booked into the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center on pending charges of gross sexual imposition and multiple counts of rape.
She spent that weekend in juvenile detention.
Two of the victims are 11 years old and one is 10 years old, according to the report.
Specific information about the alleged incidents haven’t been released, and Canfield Police Chief Chuck Colucci said the juvenile court magistrate issued a gag order on the case, preventing anyone involved from discussing its details.
Colucci said the case remains under investigation by his department.
