Jay Williams, former Youngstown mayor and current executive director of the U.S. Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers, to 51 graduates of Youngstown Early College. Williams was keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony Sunday at Powers Auditorium in downtown Youngstown.

Mark Robinson, Niles schools superintendent. In an effort to save $1.4 million in the next fiscal year, the board of education is expected to approve layoffs of more than 14 teachers and 19 nonteaching staff Wednesday. However, a sizable deficit remains for Fiscal Year 2013.
