Shillings to mark 60th anniversary at family affair

Gene and Flo Shilling of Hubbard will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this month with a family celebration.

Mr. Shilling and the former Flo Hiznay were married May 31, 1952, in Youngstown.

The couple are the parents of three children: Ken (Karen) Shilling of Glenn Dale, Md.; Susan (Larry) Morrison of Batavia, Ill.; and Don (Amy) Shilling of Boardman.

They also have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Shilling retired in 1984 as vice president of purchasing for Scholl-Choffin Co. in Austintown, where he worked for 38 years. He is a former president of the Youngstown Purchasing Association and a former member of Youngstown Rotary. He attends First United Methodist Church in Hubbard.

Mrs. Shilling worked as a receptionist for Scholl-Choffin until 1953, when she became a full-time homemaker. She is a member of Border Queens of Ohio and Pennsylvania Red Hats and St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.

The couple are members of Happy Wanderers of Hubbard.
