Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Youngstown and Vicinity will sponsor a community worship service in observance of Holy Week at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Antioch Baptist Church, 110 Funston St.
Messengers for the service will include the Rev. Jim Ray, retired Presbyterian campus minister; Minister Eboni Bogan, associate minister at St. Andrewes African Methodist Episcopal Church; and the Rev. Henry McNeil, associate minister at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church and president of Baptist Pastors’ Council. Pastor Ernest Ellis is host pastor.
Special guests will include Elizabeth Baptist’s Gideon’s Army Adult Dance and Drama ministry, Emancipation Community Choir and Youngstown Chapter School of Ushering.

Greenford Christian Church, 11767 Lisbon Road, will present “No Greater Love,” a dramatic musical, at 7 p.m. today and 11 a.m. Palm Sunday. There is no charge.
Passion play

Top Hat Productions will present the 18th season of “The Earth Trembled” two weekends for Easter.
The Passion play, which depicts the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, will be at 7 p.m. today, Palm Sunday, April 6 and 7 at Fairview Arts & Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road.
“The Earth Trembled,” written and directed by Brian Palumbo, began in Conneaut, Ohio, in 1994. Operating as a “touring company” the first 10 years, Top Hat worked with volunteers from churches, youth groups and civic organizations in communities visited. Some productions have had more than 85 participants. This year’s production will feature Top Hat regulars along with members of area churches and theaters.

Journey with cross on Good Friday

Ambassadors for Christ, an organization of churches on the East Side, will gather at noon Good Friday at We Walk by Faith Bible Church, 1636 Himrod Ave., for the 11th annual journey with the cross. All are welcome to participate.
After a gathering prayer, participants begin the walk with a large wooden cross with each person being given the opportunity to carry it. Walking along in song, the group will periodically stop at various street corners for prayer and reflection as the Stations of the Cross are read by a pastor.
The journey will follow Oak Street toward downtown, left onto Wick Avenue, left onto Commerce Street, left onto East Federal Street and then over the bridge to Wilson Avenue, concluding at St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church.
Transportation will be provided back to the starting point.
Ambassadors for Christ began in 2000. Member churches are Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Zion Baptist Church, St. James Church of God in Christ, St. Stephen of Hungary/Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Churches and We Walk by Faith Bible Church.

Chestnut Ridge Church Of God, 7215 Chestnut Ridge Road SE, will offer a dramatic presentation of the Last Supper at 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday, depicting Jesus and his disciples sharing their last meal together.
The congregation will participate in communion.
Before the drama, there will be foot washing at 6:30.

Faith Community Covenant Church, 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd., will present the Holy Week musical “Harvest of Sorrows” at 10:45 a.m. Palm Sunday at the worship service. Music and narration reveal the events of Holy Week.

Damascus Friends Church, 300 Valley Road, will host its third annual Night of Worship concert at 7 p.m. Palm Sunday with the theme “Let Us Adore Him.” The worship band will lead contemporary worship music.
