Shale training | About the program

Eastern Gateway Community College and the city of Warren have teamed up to provide job training opportunities for those interested in working in the oil and gas industry.

Those interested in a shale-related career should attend an informational meeting at 2 or 5 p.m. Wednesday at W.D. Packard Music Hall.

The first class will be trained to be roustabouts, positions that set up rigs and perform maintenance and support tasks.

The class will last three weeks, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning around June.

The cost of the program — aside from a background check and drug screening — is covered by a ShaleNET grant.
