Friday, March 30, 2012

OSU Extension is offering training beginning April 11 for gardeners who want to increase their gardening skills and share these skills with others throughout the Mahoning Valley.

Training classes will include soils, fertilizer, houseplants, lawns and more. Gardeners will gain an understanding of why plants thrive or die, they will learn to grow near perfect vegetables and have herbs to use in the kitchen.

Training will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday at Mahoning County Extension in Canfield.

Cost for the class is $125 and includes a notebook of all materials, snacks, speakers and items for hands-on activities.

Interested candidates should contact OSU Extension at 330-533-5538 or go to www.mahoning.osu.edu and click the link to Master Gardner Volunteer Program to find the application.
