The carnival came to town early for Lynn Kirk Elementary, as students enjoyed their annual PTA Spring Carnival on March 23.

Officials at the Lynn Kirk PTA manned the carnival games and activities. Event organizer Mika Mosser said this year’s carnival included some exciting changes.

“We decided to mix up our tried-and-true carnival system a bit this year by offering new games like the balloon relay and activities like our carnival mural, where students are encouraged to draw some of their favorite fair attractions. The kids are enjoying free bags of popcorn and we have a surprise gift bag that we award them at the close of their visit,” Mosser explained.

Along with the new attractions, favorite activity areas like cornhole, ring toss, mini-golf and face painting were still available.

At the face painting station, kitten whiskers, beards and moustaches were popular choices for decoration.

Mosser said she enjoys planning the event because it offers plenty of quality fun for the whole school.

“Around Lynn Kirk, we have teachers who are turning in their work, third-graders preparing for their state tests, and general spring fever throughout the school. The carnival gives everyone a little bit of an escape and a great day to just enjoy themselves,” Mosser said.
