Zoldan’s horse qualifies for Kentucky Derby

YOUNGSTOWN

For the second straight year, Youngstown Phantoms owner Bruce Zoldan will have a horse in the Kentucky Derby.

On Saturday, Went the Day Well took first place at the Grade III Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park to qualify for the Kentucky Derby.

Went the Day Well is owned by Team Valor, of which Zoldan is a partner. The bay colt followed in the of hoof prints of another Team Valor horse, Animal Kingdom, who’s victory last year at the Spiral Stakes helped propel him to a Kentucky Derby win six weeks later at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
