WARREN

The Warren Police Department is investigating separate stabbings that injured a 14-year-old boy and 26-year-old woman.

The 14-year-old, from Stephens Avenue Northwest, had been released from the hospital by Friday after being stabbed in the chest at 6:05 p.m. Thursday on Riverview Avenue Northwest.

The boy told police he was riding his bicycle on Riverview near Niblock Avenue with another juvenile walking beside him.

The 14-year-old said the other juvenile made a remark to an unidentified older white male who was walking past the juveniles.

The man called the 14-year-old a name, then chased the boy and stabbed him with an underhand motion, the victim said.

Police have made no arrest in the case.

A 26-year-old Saratoga Avenue Southwest woman reported being stabbed in the finger at her house at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.

The finger was badly injured, police said, but she had been released from the hospital by Friday. No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
