Megan Donahue of Canfield is this year’s first recipient of a scholarship from the Mark and Rudolph Braydich Scholarship Foundation.

The $6,200 scholarship is to cover tuition and student fees. Donahue is a student in Choffin Career and Technical Center’s accredited dental assisting program. The program is accredited by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation. It is the only ADA-accredited program in the area where students graduate with five national and state credentials/certificates. Donahue is a graduate of Canfield High School.

Kindergarten round-up

McDonald

McDonald Local Schools will conduct a kindergarten round-up Thursday and April 14 at Roosevelt Elementary School, 410 W. Seventh St. Sign-up Thursday will be from 5 to 7 p.m. and sign up will be from 9 a.m. to noon April 14. Children who are 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 are eligible to be signed up. Open enrollment in the district also applies to kindergarten. To sign up, bring an original birth certificate, the child’s Social Security card, proof of residence and child’s shot records. Anyone missing any of these items should attend the registration, and school staff will assist with the process. For information, call 330-530-8051.
