Ohio water park closure spurs refund complaints

Saturday, March 24, 2012

MASON, Ohio (AP) — The closure of a southwest Ohio water park has prompted complaints from dozens of people who have season passes to the park but aren’t getting refunds.

Managers decided they couldn’t justify further investment in The Beach water park and recently announced it wouldn’t open for the 2012 season. It had been in business for more than 27 years.

WCPO-TV in Cincinnati reports the Ohio Attorney General’s office received more than 100 consumer complaints about the park this week.

A park spokesman tells the station that there were about 8,500 season pass holders and that the park has no money for refunds.

The park in Mason is situated across a highway from the Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park and Kings Island amusement park, which has its own water attractions.
