BOARDMAN — Speaker of the House John Boehner will meet with fellow Republicans today at the party’s Mahoning County headquarters in Boardman.

Boehner is in the area for a private fundraising event in Columbiana County for U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson of Marietta, R-6th.

Boehner and Johnson will speak with GOP supporters at party headquarters about 5:30 p.m. before the private event.

Johnson, a freshman House member, is being challenged in the November general election by Democrat Charlie Wilson. Johnson beat Wilson in 2010 by 5.04 percentage points.
