WARREN

A campaign to recruit adoptive families for children has begun in Trumbull County. Trumbull County Children Services is seeking loving and supportive families to care for and adopt children and sibling groups.

The theme of this effort is “I Believe in Family.” To promote the campaign, billboards are being displayed in the county.

Many youth in Ohio are waiting for adoptive families, Children Services says. Some are in foster homes, and others are being cared for in facilities such as the ones run by Trumbull Children Services.

Trumbull Children Services spokesperson Cynthia Mason says 16 youth are in the agency’s permanent custody with no identified adoptive family. There are nine girls, seven boys, 11 white children and five black children.

One is less than 1 year old. Two are ages 2 to 5. Two are ages 6 to 8. Four are ages 10 to 13. And seven are ages 14 to 17.
