YSU to celebrate diversity leadership

In its fifth year, Youngstown State University will celebrate and honor leaders of diversity and inclusion at its 2012 Diversity Leadership Recognition Celebration on March 29.
The event will be at 6 p.m. at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Avenue, Boardman.
The selected honorees are student leaders (Leaders of Tomorrow): Rebecca Banks, Cary W. Dabney, Anita Gomez and Ohio Lady Advocates (co-founders: Sarah J. Lowry and Molly Toth); Campus Leadership: Ana M. Bobby, Sherri R. Lovelace-Cameron and Jacqueline Robertson; Community Leadership: Tom Anderson, Bob “Doby” Dean, Carole McWilson and Penny Wells.
The recipients of the Diversity Leadership scholarship are Mark A. Jones Jr. and Marilyn Bills.
The keynote speaker is Zahid Bukhari, president of the Islamic Circle of North America and executive director of the Center for Islam and Public Policy.
The cost is $35 per person or a table of eight for $280. Thursday is the reservation deadline.

Proceeds from the event will fund student scholarships through an endowment that has been established through the YSU Foundation.
