YSU’s Beta Gamma Sigma installs 41

The Youngstown State University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, hosted by the Williamson College of Business Administration, recently installed 41 business students at induction ceremonies on campus.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the world’s premier business honorary reserved exclusively for schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

While nearly 350,000 students receive bachelor or master’s degrees in business each year, only about 25,000 are inducted into a lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma.

Students must be registered in business administration programs for baccalaureate or MBA degrees and must rank in the top 10 percent of the junior class, the top 10 percent of the senior class or the top 20 percent of the master’s program.

Students installed are Michael Brand of Alliance; Michael Metzinger and Lucas Stokes of Austintown; Erin Sturrus and Jocelyn Tabus of Boardman; Janelle Fumerola of Burghill; Gary DiTullio, Joseph Marino, Ryan Meditz, Dominic Rich and Griffin Todd of Canfield; Chelsea Baker of Cortland; Casey Merritt of Diamond, Danielle Sweat of East Liverpool; Anthony Cardiero, Brett Cubellis, Kenneth Mylar and Chad Zirafi of Girard; Jomara Murillo of Kent; Mark Boda and Kacey Kurtz of Hubbard; Kaitlin Rohrs of Liberty Center; Stephanie DelliGatti of Lisbon; Deanna Hardy of Newton Falls; Karlee Reader of New Waterford, Rachel Roberts of Niles; Daniel DeLullo of North Lima; Mark Anderson, Christina Oles and Lucas Politsky of Poland; Darcy Hilton of Salem; David Kyle and Katherine Peterlin of Strongsville; Ryan Jewell, Mitchell Lauer and William Vrontos of Warren; Nita Drugatz, Ronald Johnson, Patrick Reed and Courtney Waskin of Youngstown; and Anthony Taylor of Industry, Pa.

BGS has members in all 50 states and more than 160 countries.

The Williamson College of Business Administration has inducted 530 students into BGS.

The YSU chapter has been recognized as a Exemplary Chapter for its superior level of membership acceptance.

With Exemplary Chapter status, the YSU chapter awarded a $1,000 BGS scholarship to Isaac Adu-Poku, a senior accounting major from Boardman, in the 2011-12 academic year.

Bill Vendemia of Youngstown is the president and adviser of the YSU chapter, and Tony Kos of Transfer, Pa., is secretary. David Dugan, an MBA student from McDonald, is vice president.
