Youngstown officer assaulted at South Side bar

YOUNGSTOWN — A city police officer was assaulted, and landed in the hospital for the second time in as many years, after a fight in a South Side bar Thursday night.

Officer Bridget Quinn was taken to ValleyCare Northside Medical Center after complaining of dizziness when she was punched in the face by a patron at O’Malley’s Bar on South Avenue. She was released last night, but will not immediately return to work.

Officer Patrick Mulligan was also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries suffered in the bar scuffle.
