Youngstown man injured in fall in Mill Creek Park

YOUNGSTOWN

A 26-year-old Youngstown man was seriously injured when he fell 20 to 30 feet while rock climbing in Mill Creek Park early this evening.

Mill Creek MetroParks police said George Stickle of Paisley Street slipped on the wet rock and fell in the early evening at Lanterman's Mill, an area about 100 yards into the park off Canfield Road (U.S. Route 62).

Stickle, apparently wedged between rocks, was extracted by Youngstown Fire Department personnel and transported by Rural Metro Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center where he was in guarded condition in the emergency department.
